Favorite Friend Records was formed in 2020 by childhood friends Tom Gallo and Nick LaFalce. The duo have been steady voices in the NYC scene for the last decade (Gallo, a prominent local music journalist, podcast and radio host; LaFalce, a Brooklyn-based musician/composer/producer), and have now combined their complementary skills and experiences to build a more connected and supportive music community.
Favorite Friend’s first release was Living In Fear, the debut full-length from Jersey City's CR and the Nones in late 2020, followed by After Image, the debut full-length from Brooklyn’s Hanford Reach in May. The next major releases will come from Atlas Engine, who have 2 interconnected EPs and a full length all slated for 2022. Favorite Friend also released Save Our Wicked Lady, a cross-label vinyl compilation to support the iconic Bushwick venue, and throw monthly showcases with both label and non-label artists to grow and connect communities.
